I have to say that a salt ring is technically used to trap demons. Does this means self driving cars are possessed? That does provide a completely different perspective. It’s not tech that’s advanced, it’s demonology. Getting demons to drive your car in a controlled fashion is a monumental feat - barring the salt barriers, of course.
I wonder if spray paint would work? More permanent and many lovely shades.
